The two of them had an instant attraction! Back then, David had only turned 31 and had a very different lifestyle from Elton. They had been together for 12 years when Elton proposed. They tied the knot right away when the United Kingdom finally legalized same-sex marriage in 2010. The couple has two sons together.

The U2 frontman got married to Alison Hewson in 1982. The two of them have said that their secret is that they are passionate about what they do and let each other chase their dreams. Even though they have been man and wife for almost 40 years now, they did have a rough patch in 1986. At the time, the band had been working on Joshua Tree. We are glad that they were able to work things out! Not only that, but they have proven that you can be a family man and a rockstar at the same time.
