Who hasn’t dreamt about winning the lottery? This is the sort of thing we think about all the time since it would mean becoming rich without doing anything. Sadly, the odds of this happening are one in 45 million. That might be the case, but there is something else that you can do if you are looking to make a quick buck or two. Why don’t you check out your basement or attic for the following items! If you feel up to it, you can even check out thrift stores and see if you can score any of them. Other people thought they were junk, but people were willing to pay good money for them!
Vince Lombardi’s Sweater
The McEvoys owned a vintage clothing resale business and went through Goodwill items when they saw a basketball sweater that said ‘West Point’ on the front. Without a second thought, they put it in the cart. A couple of months later, they had been enjoying a documentary about Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi when Mr. McEvoy noticed something. The athlete was wearing a sweater identical to the one they thrifted! When they took a closer look at the garment, they found a name tag that spelled out the name of the coach himself. They found out that it had been donated 60 years ago! The couple paid 58 cents for it, but the estimated value of the sweater is $43,020. Whoa.
