The Beatles’ lead guitarist was George Harrison, and he was dubbed “the Quiet Beatle” though he was not one of their more prominent participants (as opposed to McCartney or Lennon). He wrote several of the songs of the band, like Here Comes the Light, Taxman, Whatever, etc. George Formby, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, Django Reinhardt are his musical influences. He was also influenced by Indian culture and music, extending pop music to the band’s work to integrate Indian instruments and Hindu spirituality. Born in Liverpool, he died in 2001 in LA.
