All of that was done over an hour and a half before departure time. However, something went wrong with ground handling which should have provided special assistance. Because of this, Ms. Burton missed her flight. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she was told she had to wait for 90 minutes to get back her luggage, which included a walking aid and suitcase.

The airline eventually learned her luggage was flown to Bordeaux in spite of the fact that she herself wasn’t on the plane. Before takeoff, all baggage on the plane is scanned. Also, aviation security is supposed to make sure a passenger’s bags are offloaded when that person doesn’t board the plane.
