Unclear Explanations
There were some vague explanations we could not gather other evidence that could portray the appearance of Jesus. A century ago, some artists used poetic license and different kinds of painting to make their desired portrait. Also, some artists did not only portray their desired image, but they also painted their style on that day to express their symbolic meaning.
The Good Shepherd
Allegorical painters made an image of Jesus in the grassland while there were a lot of sheep. The idea of the painters was making the Messiah “the good shepherd.” That meant to be the shepherd of his people. Being a shepherd meant to be reflected as a suitable appearance as a leader were people would follow his lead even though this image of Jesus was painted in the age of the early Roman. Many images were found in the city of Rome that was distant from the homeland of Jesus.
