Sadly, this talented actor has not been faring too well in terms of finances. He once ran away from the authorities when he tried to skip out on thousands of dollars in hotel bills. What makes things even worse is that he and his wife say that their financial problems have been caused by a secret cult called ‘Hollywood Star Whackers.’

The Sly and the Family Stone frontman does not deserve all the blame for his financial difficulties. Even though his illegal substance use has contributed to it, much of his financial problems are due to the fact that he was not allowed to collect royalties for a long time. In 2011, Sly Stone said that he was staying in a camper. The judge eventually ruled that even though the royalties were taken in an unfair manner, he technically assigned the money to a production company that technically owned them. Ouch.
