A man named Barrie Green climbed down a maintenance hole in Nottingham and found himself standing on a full-sized sofa. The employee from Severn Trent Water realized the furniture piece couldn’t have been flushed down the toilet. It had to be pushed down the maintenance hole – with a lot of force, of course. It’s still a mystery how this was accomplished and how it didn’t result in any blocked drains.

This may be one of the most terrifying of the strange and gross things discovered in drains. On the internet, a disturbing video surfaced that perplexed everyone who saw it. Initially, people believed it was some kind of alien creature. It has, however, been explained. It turned out to be a swarm of pulsing sewer worms. The site of a mind-blowing discovery was thought to be the North Carolina sewer, but it turned out to be worms. To say the least, it was disappointing.
