A Diamond
Someone tells a story about cutting a drum trap out of an old house in Detroit. When he returned later in the day, he heard something rattling around it and decided to investigate. It took him a few days to recall it and put it in his van. He was cleaning out his van a year after he discovered it. It had dried up by this time, and he couldn’t hear the rattling noise any longer. He cut it open out of curiosity, and it was a 4.6-inch diamond in the shape of a heart!
Fatberg
A 15-ton fatberg was discovered in the sewage system of London in 2017. If you’re not sure what a fatberg is, it’s what happens when you flush things like diapers, wet wipes, and other difficult-to-flush items down the toilet. They’re all swept into the sewers, covered in grime and fat, and eventually turn into a massive rotating mass that could cause major blockages. The fatberg in London was over 250 meters (820 feet) long!
