The Paper In His Pocket
On that unfortunate day, Rubin had to talk to that kind lady for a few minutes. He could tell right away that she was a woman with a kind and nurturing attitude. For some reason, he had the presence of mind to receive her number. It was written on a slip of paper that he had stashed in his pocket. However, if he reached out, he had no idea if she would remember him or even his daughter. There was, at any rate, only one way for him to find out.
He Hoped For The Best
There he was holding his infant baby in his arms at the airport. Rubin struggled because he was out of cash and choices. There was no other choice left for this new parent, so he wanted to clearly listen to what his gut was telling him. He dialed her number after taking the crumpled piece of paper out of his bag, and wished for the best: “Please answer… please…” It seemed like something was betting on this phone call. What was next to happen?
